A high level of a wide range of nutrients is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">continuously<\/span> delivered to your cells and tissues via your bloodstream.<\/p>\n<p>The nutrients &#8216;switch on&#8217; positive genes, build healthy new cells, fight inflammation and help prevent DNA damage.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a level that is genuinely health-protective and proven to increase healthy lifespan.<\/p>\n<h4>Why <strong>5<\/strong>-a-day fruit and veg is not enough<\/h4>\n<p>Health authorities have known for some years that the optimum intake of fruits and vegetables was a lot more than 5-a-day.\u00a0 But they felt that a a higher target would be too daunting and put people off even trying\u00a0 \u2013 so they cut the target to 5!<\/p>\n<p>The fact is that very few, even conscientious, people can manage <strong>70 portions<\/strong> of a wide range of fruits and vegetables a week.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s when a nutritional health supplement can help \u2013 but <u>only<\/u> if it supports you reaching towards the <strong>optimum<\/strong> nutritional level the researchers have defined.<\/p>\n<p>When you are considering a supplement, there are three important facts to remember:<\/p>\n<h3>1. RDAs (Recommended Daily Amounts) for vitamins and minerals are\u00a0only set at a minimum \u2018sufficient\u2019 level<\/h3>\n<p>Taking just the RDAs will certainly prevent deficiency diseases. <strong>Vitamin C<\/strong>, for example, prevents scurvy and the RDA for <strong>vitamin D<\/strong> prevents rickets. But that is a low threshold.<\/p>\n<p>Whether the RDAs are enough to sustain ideal long-term health is entirely another matter.<\/p>\n<p>In the case of the <strong>B vitamins<\/strong>, (vital for energy), <strong>vitamin D<\/strong> (vital for immune function), <strong>vitamin C<\/strong> (vital for heart and skin health) and <strong>selenium<\/strong> (vital for DNA protection) there is a large body of convincing evidence that the <strong>optimum<\/strong> levels are much higher.<\/p>\n<h3>2.\u00a0 Your health depends on far more than just vitamins and minerals<\/h3>\n<p>Research clearly shows that\u00a0<strong>polyphenols <\/strong>and<strong> carotenoids <\/strong>found in fruits and vegetables are as important for health as vitamins and minerals.<\/p>\n<p>Polyphenol,
